What Happens When a Sheikh Marries the Wrong Twin?!

In Promised to a Sheik by Carla Cassidy, Sheik Omar Al Abdar, ruler of the Middle East country of Gaspar, decides it's time for him to take a bride. Thus, he makes an impromptu trip to Texas, to propose to his pen-pal and one-time cotillion dance partner, Elizabeth Fiona Carson.

What he doesn't know, however, is that his pen-pal for the past few years has been Elizabeth Cara Carson, Elizabeth Fiona's identical twin sister.

Incidentally, two sisters who look exactly the same and have the same first name certainly might have led to Omar's overall confusion.

Since Elizabeth Cara is genuinely in love with the Sheik and wants to marry the man to whom she's been writing under another identity, she keeps a lid on her secret. And because of the same-first-name-thing, she is able to get through the wedding ceremony by signing "Elizabeth C. Carson" on the marriage license, a detail that is unnoticed by Omar.

Once the couple settle in Gaspar, Omar learns the truth about his wife and is furious. Cara tries to apologize, admitting "I know what I did was wrong, but I wanted to be your wife.." But when Omar can't be convinced to forgive her, Cara seeks solace with the women of the palace, who advise her to repair her marriage the best way they know how: belly dancing lessons.

It's a sound idea; perhaps marriage counselling is unavailable in Gaspar.
